Description

UB University Business Forum was set up by the European Commission in 2008 to promote, streamline and support academy-industry cooperation.

It was a meeting place for stakeholders from higher education, industry, intermediate sector associations and the public authorities from around Europe to transfer knowledge and create sustainable alliances for innovation, business spirit and creativity.

The UB Forum was a space for open debate, exchange of ideas, networking, mutual learning and highlighting best university-industry cooperation practices.

It also provided the ideal stage for the sharing of knowledge and a joint approach to creative and cultural entrepreneurship, and for university-industry cooperation in a cultural/patrimonial setting, as one of its main focuses. The UB Forum also considered the Basque Civic Business model to bring interesting matters to the table in the matter of University-Industry Cooperation and its impact on regional development.

The Forum highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation for progress in Europe. Cooperation between the Basque Country and Nouvelle-Aquitaine provided an example to follow, and similar cooperative initiatives are essential to delivering the European future. The Forum specifically focussed on the creative and cultural dimension, underlining its potential as a tool to tackle the challenges of the future.
