Description
Throughout 2016, a group of UPV/EHU researchers came together in a series of participative, practical meetings to reflect on interdisciplinary cooperation. The group examined the meaning and limits of cross-discipline cooperation in academic and research in the specific context of UPV/EHU. This was used as a basis to co-create specific initiatives aimed at creating an environment of radical integration between disciplines.
Several levels or areas of work were discussed
- The personal level
What skills, attitudes and reactions favour or hinder interdisciplinary teamwork?
- Teams and relations
Which dialogue skills and habits exist outside a discipline? How can we use language as a real tool for dialogue, beyond simple codes? What are the characteristics of transdisciplinary language? What formal and informal expression rituals are created and used by a transdisciplinary group?
- Support structures: environments and processes
Which of our working methodologies are essentially TRANS? What role do virtual and physical environments play in dialogue and creating transdisciplinary knowledge?
- The regulatory framework
Is it possible to imagine a TRANS institution? And the projects? What mechanisms, indicators and incentives are needed?
The group produced a document containing the outcomes of their collective reflection, We love transdisciplinarity maite dugu! available on the Euskampus website.
