Euskampus Fundazioa launched the Euskampus COVID-19 Resilience programme to support and catalyse collaborative projects tackling the challenges of COVID-19 which have the potential to greatly impact society.

The aim of the initiatives to bring researchers together to tackle pandemic-related challenges, looking into reliable diagnosis and prognosis, effective prevention and treatment, infection monitoring and tracking, protection and equipment for biological threats, preventing and overcoming crises, among others. By this means, the program builds recovery capacity and helps to create a more resilient society.

List of the nine approved projects:

  1. SARSense. Essential knowledge of binding knowledge to design rational sensors to detect SARS-CoV-2.
  2. Covid-AR. Exacerbation of the COVID-19 antibiotic resistance crisis.
  3. EISCOVID-19. Assessment of the health impact of COVID-19 management and control measures in the Basque Country and Nouvelle Aquitaine
  4. BOTA-ROBOTA. COVID-19 disinfection robots that can open doors and move autonomously around buildings.
  5. URJES. A response to legal, ethical and social matters in major public health crises
  6. INFECTON. Towards universal infectious disease markers using plasmonic-assistance colloidal sensors aided by computer vision and machine learning.
  7. CORTAR. Routing of the SARS-CoV-2 receptor to treat COVID-19 patients
  8. RX-AI-Covid. COVID-19 diagnosis support system using chest x-ray analysis for fast screening of acute respiratory syndromes.
  9. COnfVID19. Developing reliable prognosis models for healthcare management.
